Day 1 - Inspiration

Introduction to the material
- Corrugated boards and sustainability
- Scope of the material (Going beyond boxes)
- Types of corrugated boards
- Making process (Factory tour)

Familiarizing with material
- Hands-on exercise for material exploration
- Demonstration on measuring, drawing, cutting and creasing the boards

Exploring design possibilities
- Brainstorming session to explore new opportunities
- Explore new ideas
- End the day with the design assignment to think overnight 

Day 2 - Creation

Design detailing for corrugated boards
- Learning to detail a design through examples
- Learn about cuts and folds and flaps and locks

Creating your design
- Learning by doing (building paper prototype)
- Crystalize your design idea (manifest in corrugated)

Certificate distribution 
- You will receive a participation certificate from IIT Bombay

I am not a designer, I am confused whether I can attend the workshop?

Yes, you can attend the workshop. Your background does not restrict you from getting exposure to the world of design. 

Who should attend the workshop? 

The workshop is open to individuals above 15 years of age who have a keen interest in exploring corrugated sheet as a material for their projects. Whether you're an amateur or an experienced designer, if you're intrigued by the possibilities of designing products with corrugated material, this workshop is for you. Additionally, if you enjoy challenging spatial visualization tasks and want to expand your skills in this area, attending this workshop will provide valuable insights and hands-on experience. Whether you're a student, hobbyist, or professional, if you meet these criteria, you'll find the workshop both engaging and beneficial to your creative pursuits.

Why the workshop is not held at IIT Bombay campus? 

This is a hands-on workshop to be held at Jayna Packaging Pvt Ltd. factory premises. The participants should be exposed to all the materials and processes, so it is not held at the IIT Bombay Campus.

Is this working related to packaging? 

The workshop is not about packaging. It is about exploring paper and corrugated sheets as materials and improving your application and understanding of design. 

Why the workshop has limited number of seats?

The workshop is not a passive lecture session, it is a consciously designed lively conversation between participants, professors and design practitioners by exposing them to everyday observations to generate curiosity and enquiry. Therefore, to achieve mindful participation and conduct meaningful interactions with each one of you the number is restricted.

Can you add one extra seat, I missed registration for the current workshop.

The workshop is conducted frequently, please register for the next one before the seats are full. We strictly limit our intake of participants for the improved learning experience.

Explain me the registration process in steps

The registration process is done at the IIT Bombay secure portal.
1. Create an account on the portal.
2. Register for the course by uploading a valid Photo ID
3. Your registration will be forwarded for approval to the course faculty
4. If registration is approved by the Faculty, then go ahead with the payment.
5. After confirmation of payment, your seat will be secured
6. Plan your travel and accommodation.
